Natural Heartburn Relief

Some handy tips for heartburn relief
- Eat radishes and cucumbers have a very cool, soothing taste and are sometimes served to counteract spicy foods. Juices from vegetables like carrots can also be helpful as long as they are high in alkaline.
- Water is always good to wash the acid back down soothe the burning. Herbal teas can provide relief. Ginger is also great for digestion. Grate some ginger root and steep in boiling water for at least 10 minutes.
- If you find your heartburn sticks its head up when you bend over, or lay down, try to stay upright as much as possible. Use extra pillows to prop up your head and neck. Or lay down on your left side, where your stomach is located, lowering it away from your esophagus. This will keep the acids in your stomach and prevent them from moving back up your esophagus.
- If your heartburn occurs often and keeps you from sleeping at night, see your doctor. This could be a sign of acid reflux disease and it needs to be treated.
